Perfect for fans of Deborah Harkness and Elizabeth Kostova, The Water Witch is a breathtakingly sexy and atmospheric novel of ancient folklore, passionate love, and thrilling magic.
After casting out a dark spirit, Callie McFay, a professor of Gothic literature, has at last restored a semblance of calm to her rambling Victorian house. But in the nearby thicket of the honeysuckle forest, and in the currents of the rushing Undine stream, more trouble is stirring.
The enchanted town of Fairwick’s dazzling mix of mythical creatures has come under siege from the Grove: a sinister group of witches determined to banish the fey back to their ancestral land. With factions turning on one another, all are cruelly forced to take sides. Callie’s grandmother, a prominent Grove member, demands her granddaughter’s compliance, but half-witch/half-fey Callie can hardly betray her friends and colleagues at the college. To stave off disaster, Callie enlists Duncan Laird, a seductive academic who cultivates her vast magical potential, but to what end? Deeply conflicted, Callie struggles to save her beloved Fairwick, dangerously pushing her extraordinary powers to the limit - risking all, even the needs of her own passionate heart.

This book had SO much potential but fell sadly short for me. How I presented this book is as follows:
“Hey girls! If any of you are into poorly written leading female characters who constantly make poor decisions that harm other characters and spreads her legs for nearly every guy who does something nice for her…I have the perfect book for you!”
That pretty much sums up my feelings.
What a mess!

What made the experience of listening to The Water Witch the most enjoyable?
I loved the storyline in the first book, this one fell right into place, continuing without interruption...What was one of the most memorable moments of The Water Witch?
The ending was superb, i was kept guessing all the way through the book until the last moment, and then left hanging so that I HAVE to get the next book in the series...What does Justine Eyre bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
In the first book Justine's breathy voice got on my nerves. She let off just a little bit in this book and I actually began to enjoy hearing her voice.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I loved it! The first book was a succubus sex fest, this one actually took more time with the plot which I enjoyed... though I have no issues with the racy parts... i am glad to see that they were not the most prominent part to the book as I love the characters.Any additional comments?
Definitely worth the money!Even Better than the first Book!

Would you try another book from Juliet Dark and/or Justine Eyre?
yesWould you be willing to try another book from Juliet Dark? Why or why not?
yes Book one Demon Lover had many things about it that I enjoyed, unfortunately books 2 and 3 weren't as good, but I would still be willing to give other books by this author a chance. What three words best describe Justine Eyre’s performance?
She was very good at giving the females distinct voices. The male voices werent as distinctive. What would have made this romance irresistible?
If she had kept the dark gothic feel of the first book throughout the trilogy.put my review for this on book 1 by mistake
