This is not a serious spy novel. The main character is young, naive & up for a big adventure. I enjoyed the story up until the end. No exciting conclusion. No big surprises. Disappointing after such a great ride 😢

Nice suspense romance

I didn’t expect the world to be different so I had to pay attention to understand the whats and whys. The story idea was fresh and the introduction to bondage was unique. Neither of them understood the other’s motives or backgrounds so trusting was slow. As their realities become closer, so does their dependency and loyalty.
It has light bondage with no harm, no blood or guts, but a good live story within a different kind of world order? Hard to sum it up but I enjoyed it!

I loved this listen. Dual POV was absolutely brilliant. love and fast paced action. It was a spy novel that has a lot of 007 type gadgets and an innocent heroine that loves discovering each one. Hero was alpha but charming. Next in line to the North America Vigilante Group, Jax has been wrongly imprisoned and the whole story is trying to figure out who is behind the plot to get him out of the way. can't rave enough about this book. Is Truly a must listen and very credit worthy. box set is the cheapest way to go. happy Listening!

The story was good. It kept me entertained. Samantha Mantin was good at portraying a young woman exited about the new world she was entering. Gordon Palagi was great!! He did all the characters voice wonderfully. I would love for him to do more narration.

I loved it and couldn't stop listening. I found myself listening at every opportunity. The things that Jax and Mia went through really makes you pull for them.

This was a very interesting read. It was not as dark as I thought. A very good romantic action mystery. Highly recommended.

Not what I thought

I read this book back when it was first published as a serial. I was delighted to find out recently that it was available as part of the Romance Package so I could experience it again in a different way.

I enjoyed the audiobook very much. It's the first one I've listened to by either Gordon Anthony Palagi or Samantha Mantin and I think they did a great job.

Below is my review from when I first read this series.

Episode 1:
I normally don't read serials because I hate cliffhangers but this sounded so good I had to read it when I was offered a copy in exchange for a review. I'm so glad I did. Jax is hot and he has Mia very confused about her feelings. How can she like a fugitive?

I love how the chapters alternate between Jax and Mia's view point. The story flows quickly and kept my attention. I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Episode 2:
This second episode in The Vigilante’s Lover was so riveting I couldn’t put it down. And the cliffhanger? It was explosive!

There are some very cool scenes involving lots of tech and you get to meet a few more of Jax’s friends. Mia is starting to realize more of her potential. She is proving herself to be a capable woman in many different situations even though she hasn’t been trained.

Once again Annie and Tony have delivered a great story. They have almost converted this reviewer who absolutely hates cliffhangers. Thank goodness they don’t make us wait too long between episodes.

If you like romantic thrillers you will love this series.

Episode 3:
Jax has come to realize that he loves Mia and he must keep her safe. Mia only wants to be with Jax – she has no one else. This is another action packed episode in the series. The way the authors get Jax out of the trouble he was in at the end of the last book is amazing. The double cliffhanger for this book – WOW, just WOW.

Once again Annie and Tony have delivered a great story. I think they have now converted this reviewer who absolutely hates cliffhangers. Thank goodness they don’t make us wait too long between episodes. The short wait between episodes, and excellent writing, have convinced me that serials, when they are this compelling, are something that I could come to like. I probably still prefer to buy all of the episodes after the series is complete but I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the ARCs for this series; I will hate to see it end.

If you like romantic thrillers you will love this series.

Episode 4:
Reading this series has been quite an emotional roller coaster. The suspense, sex, adventure, sex, high-tech gadgets, sex, heart pounding suspense (yes, I know I've repeated a couple things - lol) - it's been a wonderful ride.

I really hated to see this series end. This final episode was satisfying in many ways and yet the door was left open for more adventure with Mia and Jax. I really hope that the authors bring us more stories about this couple. I'd also like to hear more about Sam and Colette.

Someone review said didn’t like the ending, I LOVED IT! It makes so much sense for a twenty year old woman. This series is like JASON BOURNE meets FIFTY SHADES OF GREY ( PG-13 version) meets MAXWELL SMART.

I loved this series

It took me a while to get into the story and stay there long enough to finish. It was like I wanted to know what happened but I didn't care about the characters. I hate virgin turned freak stories and Mia was a total innocent 22yr old virgin with damn near zero experience and she turns into a sex goddess along the way. The plot was interesting and I think the desire to know what happens is what pulled me through this book. I hate stories that have no consequences for the bad guys. *****spoilers removed but can be seen on my goodreads review*****

story 2.5 - the tech stuff and intrigue was nice but while this story had potential it missed the mark for me.
narrators - Mia sounded like she was 14 but the guy was all kinds of sexy.
