This one, wow! It is well worth a credit! I found myself sitting at the edge of my seat, fingernail biting, sighing and swooning! The chemistry, romance, and dialogue makes it a winner for me.

I rarely give romance books five stars, this is an exception. On The heels of the first in this series, I expected a little bit of a disappointment after the lovely first book in the series. I was wrong, this was a pleasant book which flowed along nicely, and did not have an annoyingly self-pitying heroin. The way the characters progressed, and were likable, made you want to really see them get together. I will seek out this author again.

I liked this book and I like Justine Eyre very much. Only issue is there is a bit TOO MUCH internal chat. It is a bit like having 10 minutes of movie to 20 minutes of commercials or exposition. But overall I liked it.

This book propels you to continue to read. it was just as exhilarating as book 1 and I am now moving into the 3rd book in less than a week! Excellent writing that's hold the attention of the reader.

Witty and Romantic

The first book was really good but I liked the second even better - I love Rex being Truelove.. I thought perhaps they could have done a "He said/She said" advice column. Rexs' view vs Clara's- but then I heard Rex's column, and thought, oh he is good at this!! If he showed up at my house 3 times a week, I don't think I could have turned him away - lol !!

I liked the story

This may be my favorite in the Lady Truelove series! I listened to this book in one sitting. I never took my earbuds out that's how good it was.

Clara is quick, sweet, smart, funny, and has a subtle beauty that Rex notices almost right away. I loved that he sees her when no one else does. He doesn't know it at the time but she is already acquainted with him because she overheard a conversation he had with his friend. During this conversation, he advises his friend how to keep his bed partner in his bed but not expecting him to marry her. Clara is appalled and I was as well. I wondered how I was going to like Rex after hearing his manipulating advice. He further angered me when he blamed her for his advice backfiring on his friend who is now angry at Rex. He took very little ownership for his part in the debacle which irritated me further.

But the reader slowly finds out that Rex has a big heart and he loves people completely, with faults and all. His devotion to his mother is an example. Clara and Rex develop a true friendship and their attraction grows as their friendship and mutual understanding of each other grows.

As for the narration, I know Justine Eyre can be a little controversial because people find her accents poorly done. She doesn't bother me at all and she doesn't bother me in this book either. I like the feeling and emotion she reads with and all the characters have distinct voices. If her accent isn't as clean or as perfect an English born reader, I'm ok with it.

In spite of some cookie-cutter moments, this was a great stand-alone story. Justine Eyre was a good choice as narrator.
