I absolutely loved this story! This is where Amanda Kohl met Chase Walker for the first time. I love that she took Chase to Vegas to get married. I love that they flew to Vegas to get married by Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and James Dean, so funny. I saw Big Girl Panties, and The Total Package, before hearing The Sweet Spot. I knew that she was only blackmailing him for him to realize how much that they were meant to be together.

Would you try another book from Stephanie Evanovich and/or Katie Schorr?

Maybe. I liked Big Girl Panties and am currently reading/listening to The Total Package, which are fine. Her characters are likable enough and the writing style, is fine. They are starting to seem a little cliched in that the male is the studly Adonis that falls for a less attractive (or at least less thin) successful, yet insecure female.

Any additional comments?

I just couldn't get past the premise that anyone would find it acceptable, let alone arousing to be hit to the point of bruising or making her cry. I stuck with the book to the end, hoping that there would be some revelation that would make me understand. It never came.

The wedding scene was a hoot. I listened to the magority of this book in one sitting.

The book was great. But I felt something was lacking in chapter 14, it was boring. Secondly, a male voice should have performed Chase's character.

The book was smartly written, funny, with a hint of kink that was not over done. The hero is in love at first sight, even with snarky comments coming his way. I loved the book because he went for the curvy girl and made her believe and want more. The book left me wanting more from Stephanie Evanovich.

Some nice anticipation that culminates in a short, choppy fashion. The ending is abrupt and doesn't delivery the fairytale at all. Fingers crossed, we'll get to know Rupert and Catherine Cole in the next book. Chase and Amanda are just too predictable now.

I read this before the first book in this series, Big Girl Panties. I am glad I did because if I had read Big Girl Panties first, I would not have read this book. Even though Amanda and Chase were the only likeable characters in Big Girl Panties, I was so frustrated with that book I never would have picked this one up.

Throughout most of The Sweet Spot, Amanda and Chase are an enjoyable couple to get to know. I had a couple of issues with Amanda. First, she is originally developed as a strong-willed, independent, ambitious and successful woman. As she falls for Chase, all of those strengths seem to disappear. I understand that being in a relationship with such a famous person might necessitate changes in her career and personal time priorities, but her change was far more dramatic than that. I also think that the author used the couple's mild "kink" as the excuse for this dramatic personality change. Which seemed terribly judgmental, narrow-minded and unrealistic to me. Finally, I thought her handling of the crisis was entirely out of character of the woman she is in the first half of this book.

In spite of this, I still enjoyed the book. Parts of it were quite humorous and as inconsistently written and as disappointing as Amanda was, by the end of the book, Chase was a well developed and consistently portrayed character.

The narration was very good.

I have read the book in paperback, but hearing it was awesome... this story has it all. funny, romancy, highs and lows. you just have to give it a whirl.
