Speaking from many years of personal and professional experience, Dr Bacon gives a myriad of practical advice for couples to become closer and move toward "super." The key point is full comitment on the part of each spouse to always put the needs and wants of their partner first. This inevitably leads to positive feedback in both directions, with both partners benefiting. Super couples do not necessarily start as "super," nor have any special abilities to be "super," but work at this. However, Dr. Bacon points our that this does not seem like work. She gives many examples of super couples, couples that do not have super relationships, and some that have rocky patches and gradually become super. She points out some innate differences between men and women, that, if understood, help couples to better relate to each other.
