Acerca de esta escucha

Rediscover the captivating post-apocalyptic world of the Change with the latest in the New York Times best-selling series.

The spirit of Prince John, the brother of Crown Princess Orlaith, has fallen captive to the power of the Yelolow Raja and his servant, the Pallid Mask. Prince John's motley band of friends and followers, led by Captain Pip of Townsville and Deor Godulfson, the bard and master of magic, must lead a quest through realms of shadow and dream to rescue Prince John from a threat far worse than death.

Meanwhile, Reiko and Orlaith muster their kingdoms for war, making common cause with the reborn Kingdom of Hawaii. But more than weapons or even the dark magic of the cannibal sorcerers of Pyongyang threaten them. Orlaith's lover, Alan Thurston, is more than he appears.

In the tropical waters off Hilo and Pearl Harbor, and among the jungles and lost cities of the Ceram Sea, a game will be played with the fate of the world at stake.

Wandering . The thread back to Dies the Fire she is in peril. The travel through the spirit world is tedious.

I have listened to the entire series and I very much enjoy this narrator. And, I was eagerly looking forward to this latest addition to the story. I was very disappointed to find that most of the book is devoted to a trip through the shadow lands. It just drones on and on and does very little to advance the story. I hope the next book is better.

Sad addition to the series

This was a great book. The imagery used to tell the story painted a picture in my mind. Sterling keeps adding new and interesting chachters. He is also expanding his setting to include the whole world.

Finished it in less than 24 hours.

Even though this series might be getting a bit thin I still love it and read all the books.

EMBEVERSE

The usual from Stirling, a decent story with a lot of padding. I suspect that 95% of us have followed the series from when the fires died, no need to recap every second chapter, or is he being paid by the word?

The narrator has really been getting on my nerves lately, learn to pronounce Haida and Sporran correctly ok?

Otherwise, another workmanlike offering in the Emberverse series, and now we wait for the next.

Not too shabby, but...

I previously read the full series and rate the series 5 stars. I was disappointed in the Sea Peoples, way too much time in dream land and very little in the final battle.

Too much dream time

This story definitely seemed to flow more so than the last story, which I feel to be a result of the author’s having opted not to reiterate the same prayer or oath to whatever deity over for each character in the scene. He did do some of that, but THANKFULLY kept it to a full roar, and concentrated on moving the plot along. Not sure I understood, or rather, appreciated why the author decided to graft parts of the story of the yellow sign/ the king in Yellow onto his own (page filler?), but hey, that’s dramatic license for you.

Overall, I enjoyed the story, but am looking forward to having this tired series complete.

Thank you Mr. Sterling for the Emberverse series. Perhaps you’ll go back and revisit the Nantucket series and write the next part of that?

Improvement over the last story, but it’s time to wrap things up

Story line has gotten lost. This was the last book we'll get and I'm going to return it.

He has gone way off track for me.
