 Trezoro is a planet perfect for terraforming. With the right technology, it could have a self-sustaining ecosystem within a thousand years. However, the fastest ship would take over a century to get there. A human could never survive the trip. Instead, an empty ship is sent. When it arrives at Trezoro, the automated systems assemble an orbital station. Robots secure a water supply, begin growing crops, and fire up the artificial womb to begin breeding human babies. A station inhabited entirely by children now orbits this distant world. They grow up in isolation, without parents or communication with Earth. With nothing but computer systems for guidance, they must build a self-sustaining ecosystem on a lifeless world. Thirteen-year-old Sophia is the oldest girl in the colony. Until now her focus has been only on survival and keeping order in the settlement. Soon, actual terraforming operations will begin on Trezoro. They are outgrowing the station and it's time for the older pioneers to descend to the planet's surface. Sophia must pilot the shuttle. The stress is starting to get to her. I wrote this

I'm reviewing my own book again. Wanted to mention just how many emotions this brought back to me listening to this after so many years. For me this story is super intense. It's all melodramatic, but also super silly, full of screaming, crying and nonsense, which fits because these are children who switch from silly to melodramatic at the drop of a hat. This story showcases a core aspect of my personality and mission in life, which is my love of space travel and belief that reaching the stars is the most important thing humanity could be doing.
