The Puppet

I have no intentions of becoming a happy family with the social climber and her wild daughter. A bottle of Jameson and a cracked skull gets my problem shipped to reform school, but I didn't bank on her returning.

Four's out to get even, and she almost had the perfect plan: Expose the privileged kid moonlighting as a gangbanger. She's smart, but she'll have to be smarter. Sending her away won't be good enough this time. I'm going to have to tame the little troublemaker. To the girl across the hall, the one without a name, I'm nothing without my silver spoon.

My first audiobook by this author and can gladly say I enjoyed it very much. The characters chemistry is what basically kept me engaged. I loved the secondary characters as well and their dynamic. For this being an angsty YA, it was well done and certainly extremely well narrated. Savannah Peachwood outdid herself!!! Joe Arden is just amazing, as always.

BB Reid did not disappoint!😆 Four and Ever were such a stubborn pair! I loved the drama, angst and resilience of Four, Ever and the supporting characters. The secrets and lies could have been devastating and catastrophic for them all but thang goodness for HEA’s👏🏾Savannah Peachwood and Joe Arden’s narration was excellent and really enhanced the listener’s experience.

This is not my first B.B. Reid so I felt like I knew what to expect in this book and it delivered. Angst, romance, and characters full of life were combined to create a story of 2 people from completely different worlds. The narration was great. I appreciated that the male and female POV chapters were narrated by both sexes. It really makes the story so much more enjoyable. The narrators were perfect! They made the story come alive for me and their voices were so smooth. Now for the good stuff. If you like ballsy, gritty, bad boys this is the place to be! B.B. has a way of making you root for them even when you want to punch their stubborn faces in! Ever is the typical rich bad boy who does as he pleases and has all his little dirty secrets perfectly kept away from his father. What was likable about his character were his moments of softness and the way he wanted to take care of Four. I think what surprised me the most was Four, she seemed so tough but when it came to her relationship with her mother she was soft and vulnerable in a way that made her enduring. All in all a great story, easy to listen to book. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is my first book by BB Reid and it enjoyed it. Their names was one of my favorite things about this story. Both the creativity of the names and the accompanying meaning of the names was a touching addition to these characters journey.
I loved that two of them found a kindred souls with each other. As with most young love stories, their journey was bumpy and a wild ride. Every time it seemed like they finally found their way, a wrench would be thrown their way. Then they wouldn’t communicate with words but instead used their bodies to convey their feelings.
I think both Four and Ever were strong characters and I’m interested to see in the next book how their resolve the dilemma they are currently tackling.

I loved this listen,but I think that there should be another ending. I know there is a 2.5, but there needs to be something more.

I had this book on my wish list for months because I was pretty sure this was book 1 of a series and I hate starting a series that’s not completely on audible. I typically wish list these books and check on the series status ever couple of weeks. I was pleasantly surprised when I see it on escape and there is a 2nd book released. The books are described as standalone but they are definitely not. Although there are more books in the series I couldn’t stop my curiosity so I started book 1. This book evolves around the bullies to lovers romance of Four and Ever. BB is awesome and this story will not disappoint. It doesn’t end in a cliffhanger per say but it does not end if that makes any sense. There is the farce of the engagement, Thanksgiving and the weird love between Jamison and Barbie. Good news it there is book 2 and hopefully the others won’t take too long to release on audible.

I absolutely adored hearing these characters come to life. k already knew the story was amazing, but hearing it just brought the magic and angst and heart ache and love all together in such a frackin unbelievable way!!

Ok. I’ve been waiting for this audiobook to release for like EVER!! And I have to say.....it was completely worth the wait. This book was just as awesome and exhilarating and just POW. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Even strangers I meet on a daily basis. It’s just that yummy.
