Acerca de esta escucha

In this groundbreaking treatise, best-selling author and economist Ravi Batra identifies the roadblocks to world economic prosperity and what we need to do to overcome them.

Bringing the same insight and expertise that made an international best-seller of his book The Downfall of Capitalism and Communism, Batra takes on falling minimum wages, corporate scandals, rocketing oil prices, and many of the other crises facing the world economy. He offers an expansive, optimistic vision of how the international community can address them and bring about something historically unprecedented: true global economic prosperity.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"As always, his economic arguments are expressed elegantly." (Publishers Weekly)
"Ravi Batra has made an outstanding reputation in the United States as an international economic theorist in the best Western tradition." (New York Times)
"When it comes to the bottom line so beloved of economists, one can learn a lot about events by thinking about them in cyclical regularities, of which Batra gives a novel and brilliant exposition." (Lester C. Thurow)

I would rather hear Ravi Batra read his own book. The reader did not pick up on Mr. Batra's sense of humor, which makes this subject interesting. I still enjoyed the book as a whole.

Great book. Dull narration.

Dr. Ravi Batra clearly and succinctly reveals some amazing economic insights. Almost a year in advance, Batra convincingly predicts economic trends occurring today and clearly explains the Whys and Hows of his theory in a way that requires little effort to understand.

I used to believe that my layman's suspicions about what was happening to our national and global economies stemmed from some conspiratorial bias I somehow came to possess, but Batra has given me confidence that my own beliefs and philosophy about the economy, free trade, outsourcing and the existence of human greed in general are indeed supported by historical evidence and scholarly economic thinking.

Batra's "Cycles" were a bit peculiar to me at first, as they seem quite unorthodox in economic discourse. However, these Cycles are the basis for Batra's nearly infallible prediction record. It is well worth your time to listen to these several chapters covering the Cycles. It may take a few passes to fully take in the concept of these cycles, but it all comes together in the end.

The book is expertly narrated by Brian Emerson, one of my all-time favorite narrators.

Jaw-Dropping Insight

Good content but was disappointed at the rather unsophisticated sources. Actually cited Wikipedia and commercial encyclopedias.

Thoughtful

the author turned out to be correct about 2008 crash but really messed up when started praising Democrats saying they are less corrupt which is obviously not true. most of books like this are a mixed bag.
