Acerca de esta escucha

Although eugenics is now widely discredited, some groups and individuals claim a new scientific basis for old racist assumptions. Pondering the continuing influence of racist research and thought, despite all evidence to the contrary, Robert Wald Sussman explains why - when it comes to race - too many people still mistake bigotry for science.

This book should be required reading for first year med students, teachers, clergy, high school seniors and college freshmen. In order to change the lense of hatred, we have change the mind of the most influential people.

It really puts things into a new perspective reading/listening to this book. It is even more interesting when paired with ‘The Isis Papers’ bt Francis Cress Welsing.

Also, to further see how bogus the claims that white people are the only culture who have made significant achievements, read ‘The Destruction of the Black Civilization’ by Chancellor Williams

Very deep look into a harsh reality

On one hand, this was a great book.

On the other, you can tell he is cherry-picking the historical data because he leaves out Margaret Sanger and her eugenics project that still exists today cf. the documentary MAAFA21. Also, he has no issue pointing out if a person is republican or conservative by name but never names the democrats but conveniently leaves that out when the CSA and it's villains were mostly democratic and supported eugenics.
Dr. Walter Williams and Dr. Thomas Sowell, and Dr. Shelby Steel Have much to contribute to the cultural and economic, and historical racial issues that are missed in this book that give a fuller understanding of the evils of race

I thought it was hypocritical that at the end of a book showing how race is a myth he would go on to use the metric of race to show disparities. It would be better to use ethnic, cultural, or moral statistics.

Great book until chapter 20
