What if this is the worst idea?

I may be struggling as an artist in New York, but I'm a great doorman. Is it the easiest job in the city? Probably. And it gives my mind all the time it needs to wander. Sometimes to my current project or muse, but more often to the one who got away.

I was the one he used to reach for in the middle of the night when the nightmares came. My adopted brother, once not much more than a stranger, became my closest friend during one of the most difficult times of his life.

Now home from years overseas as a journalist, Fischer is back in his apartment on the Upper East Side where I man the door most evenings, adjusting to his life as a single dad. I've missed him, and at least that feeling is mutual.

The other feelings I have for Fischer aren't something we talk about or even acknowledge. No. He only rubs my back to help me sleep. We cuddle up to watch TV. We touch because he needs it, and I crave it. Then, with a single kiss eight years in the making, we unleash a love that could grind both our lives to dust.

I had read that this book was pretty kinky.....and YES, that's true. I'm def no prude! love me all the spice, but this one was wierd after times.

There aren't enough positive words for how great this book is. Forbidden love, pining, obsessive MCs. Highly recommend.

Such a good book. My heart was broken and put back together so many times. A hard fought HEA, but so worth it. Emotional, spicy, great depth of characters, and a great plot. Worth the credit!

This is the second book i’ve listened to by this author and I loved both of them. Good story, good writing, and really clever premise with the Doormen theme. Great narrating by both men, but I have to confess a weakness for Zachary Johnson’s voice. When he drops into that soft, low, rumbly voice, I get goosebumps. It reminds me a lot of Zercy (If you know, you know).

I loved everything about this book! The actors brought back the world to life! The tension, the hurt, the pining and the love! This was fantastic

I LOVE this series

So this one started off strong, the story was engaging and interesting seeing the MC’s connect. After they got together, while there were obstacles ,99% of the problems could have been solved by communicating. So when the miscommunication went on and on for 15 chapters I could barely get through it. Most chapters were them miscommunicating, then having sex after making up, then waking up in the morning and repeating the cycle. This very easily could have been 20 chapters less and been a great story. Idk what to think of the author because I loved book 1, but this one was def not as good.
