Acerca de esta escucha

Greg Ellis had a fascinating legal career. He grew up in Chicago. He graduated from Law School in Chicago in 1980. He defended Chicago mobsters and later prosecuted the worst mob murderers as a State’s Attorney.

His first case out of Law School was a life changer. While working for a prominent criminal defense lawyer, Greg represented the two Marlborough Diamond Thieves. It is a 45-carat diamond in a necklace, stolen from a London jewelry store in 1980. It has never been recovered. This book follows its trail for the past 42 years. Where it has been and where it is now.

The Diamond story takes you to London, Paris, Majorca, Spain; the Colorado ski slopes, Malaysia, North Korea, Washington D.C. and Mar-a-Lago, Florida. All of this takes place during Greg’s legal career. He is involved with corrupt judges and undercover FBI lawyers in Operation Greylord. He worked for insurance companies foiling arsonists and fraudsters. He worked for a national franchise company and started a successful franchise law firm representing the likes of Subway, Dunkin Donuts, Papa Johns and Jimmy Johns. The diamond thieves show up throughout his career for fun and advice. They got out of a British prison in 1992. They are still alive at 85.
