Amelia is trying very hard to reconnect with her husband, have some alone time to rekindle their love, to have him see her, his wife. So, who goes to an old prison reclaimed as a new resort that is all-inclusive and pampering with an outstanding chef, too? A prison... well, parts of that sounds good,.. until Garret gets locked into a cell that he himself propped open, and no one hears him to let him out for hours!
This story will have you listening for hours on end to find out what happened then, and what is happening now, real time. It has an ending that is extremely explosive and has your attention!

Amelia books a weekend getaway with Garret hoping it will rekindle their marriage before it's too late. When they arrive at what uses to be prison turned posh retreat, she can't help but feel doomed. When Garret follows an attractive woman saying he needs the restroom, Amelia is livid. A blizzard looms and when that earlier woman ends up being an entertainment singer and has the same necklace Garret gifted to Amelia, she can't believe what is happening. Who is this woman and what connection does she have to her husband? Later when the woman turns up murdered and the power goes out, Amelia fears for her life. Who is her husband really? Good narrator. A Gripping Thriller with excellent suspense and interesting characters. I listened well into the night. I highly recommend this audiobook.

This captivating story was great from the beginning to the end. This domestic thriller touches on second chances and the complexities of marriage.

Amelia & Garret Lawson have lost themselves in their marriage over the years and they are simply not as close as they use to be. Garret works long hours, Amelia is insecure and at this point in life, they are simply existing. It’s one last ditched effort, Amelia plans a weekend away with Garrett to see if they can rekindle the flames in their marriage. From the beginning of the trip, one thing after another begins to occur, making them feel this will be the weekend getaway from hell. Suddenly, Garrett spots someone he knows and his entire demeanor changes, leaving Amelia clueless and wondering who is this woman that has captured Garrett’s attention. It is obvious to Amelia that this is not his first encounter with this woman. So many secrets are uncovered throughout this weekend and it is hard to trust anyone.

Well written and well paced! Builds a level of suspense that keeps you listening. I enjoyed the narration in this audiobook.. This book was definitely worth the listen & I am becoming a fan of this author.
