I loved everything about the book. God is our help and will deliver us from anything if we will give our life to him and trust him. That was proven in this book. When Larry Booker made up his mind to surrender himself to God he became what God wanted him to be.

The hardest part about listening to this book, was not crying at work while listening to it.

We serve such a merciful God. And even through the times that we don’t serve Him like we should, His mercy never fails.

While my story isn’t quite that of Brother Booker’s, there are many similarities. So many times have I turned from Him and from His drawing of the Spirit. And yet when I seek Him…I find Him.

Romans 11:29 - For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

One day when I was cleaning out my parents closet, I came across this book. I believe I ended up donating it because I had no clue who Larry Booker was or why my dad had kept a book with a cover that looked sooo ordinary. Many years down the road I was listening to a podcast on Spotify and Larry Booker just happened to be preaching. He absolutely blew me away. Five years later, I was looking for a good Christian book to listen to, and this was one of the first ones that popped up. Since I had heard Larry Booker speak and was blown away, I figured his book had to be pretty good too and boy-oh-boy I was right! Definitely worth the purchase and my time! You will feel the Holy Ghost and might even get in the spirit while listening to this book.

This book is exactly that..."Captivating!!!" The author carries you to the heart of the hippie era, the 60's, where he relives the moments before his conversion to christianity. It shows the life of a young man who is caught between God's will and his own. He's constantly reaching for God, yet reaching for a pistol to shoot a tin can, off one of his friends heads. He makes promises to God, and continues to break them...time and time again, Yet God continues to reach forth his mighty hand of mercy....in some pretty mind boggling ways....The heroin injection for instance.
If you're looking for the ultimate story of triumph and victory, this it the book for you! Plan to read all the way through without putting it down!...It's that good!!
