Acerca de esta escucha
The first and greatest "mad scientist" story, from the father of science fiction.
Shipwreck survivor Edward Prendick is rescued and dropped off at a remote Pacific Island, where a disgraced British biologist has fled to continue his experimental work on human-animal hybrids. Prendick, at first terrified, later tries to subvert Moreau's domination of the "beast people" and plays a crucial part in the tragedy that unfolds.
The Island of Doctor Moreau is part science-fiction and part horror. However, it is much more than that. The novel also raises questions about the ethical limits of scientific experiments, playing God, and the distinction between humans and animals.
The Island of Dr Moreau has influenced many later stories and movies, mainly about mad scientists creating part-human, part-animal monsters. Now you can have this incomparable story read to you. This audio version is completely faithful to the H.G. Wells novel.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
I would remove the background noises/music. They are too loud and not done well. I returned the book to get a different narrationBackground noises distracting

Modern horror writers (are you reading this King, Koontz, Straub and others) and film makers need to learn how to write and film horror. They think horror should include bloody gross details and language that doesn't take much of an IQ to describe things. They need to learn from authors like H. G. Wells and film makers like Alfred Hitchcock on how to make horror scary. The modern writers try to make things scary by chopping off someone's head and giving all the gross details about it. Learn to leave things for the imagination. Stop with all the obscene language.
H. G. Wells makes horror exciting to read and this is a great example.
Modern Writers need to learn something here
