Acerca de esta escucha

Two friends, a renovation project, and complex layers of history that are destined to repeat.

Claire and Roxie team up to purchase an old house in the country in an attempt to leave the trials of their lives behind them. The women are both nursing fresh wounds from recent traumas and an unhurried fix-and-flip project represents an appealing change of direction. Eager to get the renovations underway, they start to peel away decades of wallpaper with the intention of bringing the house back to life.

The project has barely begun when Roxie announces that she has invited her new boyfriend to join them. Coincidently, David's arrival sets off a chain of events that have uncanny similarities to past tragedies on and around the property. There's an odd sense of watchfulness in the house too, a disturbing sense that the women's activities are being monitored.

As the number of frightening incidents continue to increase, Claire starts to realize that the real trials might still lie ahead of them...

This book started out decently enough, the AI voice is one of the better ones I’ve heard. However, it still was riddled with mistakes such as inappropriate tone changes, or lack thereof, mispronounced words here and there, but nothing I couldn’t get past. Additionally, there were times where the names were mixed up and got me confused, so this title really needs an editor. Lately, like mentioned before it started out OK, but the ending was totally rushed and seemed to make no sense at all. It was sloppy and lazy, and I ended up pretty disappointed by it. That said, if you’re looking for a title that’s somewhat interesting for a little while, this isn’t a terrible choice.

Started out pretty interesting
