Acerca de esta escucha

The cold waters of Lake Genosgawa hide a terrifying secret.

After his first encounter, waking dreams torment 11-year-old Greg Camden. The creature in the lake feeds on his emotions, driving him deeper and deeper into his own nightmares. She tried to break him and feed on his fears that horrible summer, but instead, she imparted a psychic gift…

Twenty-one years later, Greg joins forces with the survivors from neighboring Oneka Falls to put an end to the demonic infestation once and for all.

Can they survive a battle with The Hag?

I still have several hours left and I will finish this regardless. I really like the story, the writing is fabulous. However, the narrator....I don't want to be unkind, but oof, this is hard to listen to. He has assigned Brooklyn accents to some of the characters, but this doesn't hold throughout, seems to come and go. This is set in a small town in upstate New York not New York City. A few of his interpretations are very reminiscent of the 3 Stooges, And as a bonus, every once in a while a Southern accent drifts through. Like back woods Arkansas. This accent doesn't hang around thankfully. Again: oof.
Kerr, you have a lovely voice when you're not trying out accents, but by all that's holy, please please rethink what you've done here.

Worst narration I've ever heard

This is a great follow up to his first novel and characters and their mission against the demons . I enjoyed how they have to figure out new ways to stop the demons and the well done job of flipping back and forth on time lines. Explaining events that happen in the past
And leading up to a new character who joins the team.

Great Continuation

I had to stop listening. the narration was awful. the accents and the character voices were way off. ot was his incessant demon laughter was what finally made me unable to continue. too bad, though, because the story line was okay.

terrible narration

The narrator in the first book was so much better than this guy. This is my second listen and I’m so sad the first guy couldn’t narrate the whole series.

I do not like this narrator 😫😖

Wow this was the worst narration I have ever heard. It was over acted to the point that it sounded like satire. The voices were whiny , and all the characters sound like low IQ muscle heads , whiny wusses or some weird NJ/NY accent. Unfortunately I can’t take anymore so I will not be getting the third book. This is disappointing cause I really enjoyed the first book.

The narration is horrible and over acted

This was a really good horror novel! The characters were well written, even down to creepy Mason. Horrible things have happened every so many years on a lake in upper New York. In 1986 the horrific murders lead to a child coming back as an adult to fight again. Narration by Kerr Lordygan was terrific. was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

The story can be hard to follow with jumping back and forth through time and story lines but it all eventually makes sense and ties together. I look forward to the next book.

My biggest complaint, and the one that had me really thinking about stopping the book very early on, was the narration. This guy seems to have a very limited range for voices and can get annoy AF. Glad I stuck it out but hoping the next book has a different narrator(?).

2nd installation.

If you love Stephen King’s book, you must not miss Erik’s novel, The Hag. The tug of war in a little boy with the interplay of guilt, justification and regret keeps you at the edge of your seat. The awesome narration by Lordygan brings to life the riveting horror tale.

Great story, brought to life by Kerr Lordygan’s narration.

Downloaded the first part of the series a few years ago and had no clue it was part of a series, recently discovered that the other two books in the series had been added to audible and was super excited to finally finish the series. Absolutely disappointed in the narration of the second book, the first narrator set certain expectations and inflections from the characters that are not continued on the second book. Characters came off more as whiny this time around, the story line is solid but this narrator did not do a good job of following the portrayal of the characters that were done in the first. If you are looking to pick up this series you might want to just pick up a physical copy of the book and read it that way, I wish I had done that as now I am unsure if I want to risk listening to the final installment on audible or just buy the book and read it myself. This is not to say that Kerr Lordygan is a bad narrator but to warn people that there is a big difference between the narration of Stephen Bel Davies and Kerr Lodygan for the images portraited between the first and second book.
