His romantic weekend in ruins, shy 20-something artist Perry Foster learns that things can always get worse when he returns home from San Francisco to find a dead body in his bathtub. A dead body in a very ugly sportscoat - and matching socks. The dead man is a stranger to Perry, but that's not much of a comfort; how did a strange dead man get in a locked flat at the isolated Alton Estate in the wilds of the 'Northeast Kingdom' of Vermont? Perry turns to help from 'tall, dark and hostile' former navy SEAL Nick Reno - but is Reno all that he seems?

Would you consider the audio edition of The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks to be better than the print version?
I haven't read it yet but the audio was pretty good, my only problem being that I might need to read it to develop a better picture of what was happening as I got a little lost in some places, and I'm not sure if it was just the narrator's soothing voice making me space out. What other book might you compare The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks to and why?
Definitely not a ghost story as some people seem to believe, it is for sure a spooky detective mystery, from the point of view of an asthmatic civilian. What does Max Miller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His voice cracks me up because of the way he voices some side characters. They sound so snooty I can't help laughing no matter what they are saying. I want to give him 4.5 stars just because I don't really like the way he tries to make his voice deep for Nick; it's just not working for me.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Eh.Any additional comments?
Cute book, I'll probably get to reading it one of these days but probably won't completely listen to the audiobook again unless super bored.Cute, not my fav Lanyon book

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It took a little time to get over the narrator so I could enjoy the mystery.Would you recommend The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks to your friends? Why or why not?
No, I'm not into gay sex.How could the performance have been better?
A different narrator would be good. The "gay" needs to stay. It doesn't take away from the mystery and helps develop the relationship between the two guys. It wouldn't have been the same story without it..Could you see The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Absolutely notBetter than I thought it would be.

Sometimes I enjoy a writer's work so much I forget to check out the audio sample to see if I like the narrator, before I buy the audio version. Because I require a narrator, not a reader, to fully enjoy an audiobook.
This narrator, Max Miller, at first almost disappointed me, the voice seemed so lacking in energy and the narration was flat. But liking the Josh Lanyon stories so much, I persevered, and thankfully found the narration quickly improved. The individual voices become well delineated after the first couple of chapters, and the background narration itself picks up energy and rhythm as the story progresses.
I am in the midst of reading and listening to all the Josh Lanyon novels I can find, and I definitely would buy another one narrated by Max Miller.
Enjoyable story, Narrator gets better
