When Chebron's father is killed by an angry mob, the boys and their companions decide to make the long and dangerous journey to the land of Rebus, where they will be out of reach of their enemies. Set in Ancient Egypt, circa 1350 B.C.

This book created a vivid description of an ancient world full of war, intrigue, and royalty. Listening to this book was quite entertaining.

We love audiobooks narrated by Jim Weiss and The Cat of Bubastes was on the assigned reading for High School Ancient History. This story is good but lacks a lot of information that was relevant to the study we were doing for Ancient History.

Wish I’d realized this was abridged before buying/listening.
