You feel like you really get to know the characters. there's a depth to all of them fully formed. Serious tones and subject matter met with fun. flirty, sexy relationships and love in it's many forms. First book surprised me and drew me in. Enjoyed all 3 Correra books and although it had a lovely ending it felt a little cut short or rushed but that opinion could be changed by the next part of the series.

The narrator was truly awful 😣 I only listened all the way through bc the story had me curious. *Spoiler* Not a HEA…such a build up with a huge let down, and no real, insightful message.

Overall, this was a decent book. I found a plot to be pretty engaging and I was hooked, even though it was agonizing hearing the narrator talk I had to get through it. Typically, I like dual POV, rather than just one so this was definitely something to get used to. I am very upset though that there is no other audiobook for this series and I am a terrible reader so this is gonna be painful.

My honest recommendation is to read the book and not listen to the audiobook. If you can do that, I can’t, but I will try.

I love this book! Jake and Emma are my favorite Carrero couple. It is a great read and a great book to listen to.
