Joanne DeMaio treats us to more nuances of the loneliness, grief and happier times of the beachgoers of Stony Point in this her 13th book in this excellent, endearing series. “Then” is a deeper replay of the feelings Jason felt when his brother Neil was killed and how this death impacted so many other lives. The lives of Kyle, Lauren and even Shane. “Now” is the time for Elsa’s grand opening of her Inn. “Now” is the further attraction of Shane and Celia. And “Now” is the continuing story of Jason and Maris.
All these beachgoers whose lives have been intertwined for over twenty years. Intertwined between ‘then’ and ‘now’ and hopefully into the future.

This series used to be one of my favorites. These people became my friends. I have never written a review before. Please, please come back to the story! Why drag us into despair when there are so many other options! Evolve! Grow! Move forward. Please 🌈🦋❣️

This latest book about the Sea Side Friends is just a recap of everything we have already heard. The story barely advances at all. There are only a few sentences that give us anything new to add to the story. This series started out so promising and has landed with a big thud.
