Overall, this was good, but there are better stuff out there on being a “people pleaser!” I thought “Stop People Pleasing” by Patrick King was a lot better! “Not Nice” and “When I Say No, I Feel Guilty” have excellent reviews also, but I can’t vouch for them cuz I haven’t gone through them yet.

The Approval Fix talked about a Christian mentality to have, and some Bible verses to back up what the author said. I liked how the author used her own experiences as examples, and taught to have faith. However, I didn’t think she went that in-depth about why we are people pleasers, or give specific tactics or strategies other than having faith.

I expected more from such a famous author. I’m more hard in my reviews in established authors (admittedly I don’t like to screw over new authors with harsh reviews. Guess I’m too nice).

One thing about Joyce Meyer- I like her flavor of Christianity. Recently, I had a Christian from the chapel here (I’m on a military base in Iraq), who shoved down his flavor of Christianity down my throat. I thought he was rude and I want to confront him about it. His evangelical approach used ‘scare tactics’ and he was too extreme. Since dealing with him, I felt less inclined to read my Bible or daily devotionals. He left a bad flavor of Christianity in my mouth. I like Joyce Meyer’s loving, and not so abrasive approach to being evangelical much better. It might help bring me back to Christ.

This audio book is phenomenal, life changing and a God send to me! The narrator was excellent she able to capture the heart of the writer...a sound of purity! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
