Acerca de esta escucha

I intended to write three different books and sell them separately. I wouldn’t have gotten rich off doing it that way, but I had some ideas in mind. I thought I might use the books separately according to my initial plans. After finishing all three, I reconsidered my plans and listened to the Lord. I now believe that placing these three books together will better serve the overall process. The books work well with each other. They form a weave or blend of thoughts, ideas, concepts, and teaching that will lead the person who pays attention to understanding a power that works in them.

Each of these books offers tools that the average Christian usually struggles with learning, much less comprehending. That is not to say that Christians are not intelligent. The problem is that people are human. That alone accounts for many problems, issues, and situations in their lives. Too often, people are blind to something, not because they cannot see, but because they won’t see. The reasons for this are numerous, but the solution is singular; to trust in the Word of God. His Holy Scriptures. It seems this is the crossroads in which many Christians find themselves. They have been taught religious ideas that are supposed to work a specific way and produce specific results, but too often, what the believers expect to happen not only does not happen, but it isn’t even what God said he could or would do.

Just because God can do something does not mean he has to or will. He is God. That means He will do what He chooses to do in the manner He decides is right and best, and He will do all of that in His own timing. This concept is too often a hard and painful concept to grasp for many believers. They have been taught that they can “name it and claim it.” That if they just “believe,” it will happen. Without ever actually saying these words, they believe that God is some sort of magical genie, and if you rub the lantern the “right” way, He will do all that you ask. Others have the concept that God is more like a waiter at a restaurant, ready for you to give Him your order so that He can fulfill it. Still, others see God as a butler who knows your every need and is there to provide everything for you without you having to exert yourself too much.
The truth is far from all of that. Believers need to refocus their minds and understand God’s grandeur. While we are a little like Him, He is nothing like us. As the Scriptures say, “God can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can think or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20). He is not just “God,” he is GOD, Elohim, the Almighty, Creator of all things, and many other grand words which still lack to describe His majesty. Even believers, too often, think of God and have no other emotion than that He is a very nice guy. In truth, we should shake in our shoes, fall to our knees, and gratefully serve and obey Him all of our days.

Some believers think that believing in God, going to church, reading the Bible, and praying proves they are true believers. Satan also believes in God (and has seen Him in person), goes to church, reads the Bible, and prays (read Job chapters 1 and 2). So, then, what is the difference between people who claim to be Christians and Satan? Both believe in God, go to church, read the Bible, and pray. The difference should be that Christians choose to obey God.

This book is a challenge to all believers to get into the Word of God and search for the deep truth it contains, and then put the wisdom they will gain into action. It is one thing for preachers and teachers to exhort others to read and study the Bible, gain wisdom, and mature in the Lord. It is a whole other thing to explain the Word and teach them how to use it in their everyday lives.
