A story that snatches you up and sweeps you away! Book Three begins the morning after Salvio Scortini learns what happens when you bring a knife a gun fight.
The war of biblical proportions is building to its final battle, and still the pawns don’t see where they stand. Detective Lampani doggedly continues his investigation as the bodies pile up - hoping to close the case before whatever’s wrong with his head kills him. Raphielli Scortini discovers she has a rebellious streak a mile wide. Even in Exile, Giselle finds time to get creative, but her guardians put a damper on her dangerous style. And the architects of the whole plan suddenly discover too late that they’re disappearing one by one.
So satisfying that everything comes to a boiling point on a glacial carnival night no one will ever forget, and then there's the Pope's surprise for Lent!

I have read and listened to all three in this series. I found the narrator to be a fantastic in portraying the characters with their varied accents and personalities. The pictures in my mind from reading, were brought to life in a new way, with her narration. I truly enjoyed listening to this one (and the rest of the trilogy as well). I highly recommend putting this one (and the rest of the trilogy) on your "To Be Listened To List".
Great ending to a great trilogy

The action of Surviving Venice picks up right after the events of the previous book, Storming Venice, and sees each of our main characters as they try to make sense of what’s happening to them. Although an enemy has been defeated, there are others and the worst thing is that these are even more ruthless and dangerous.
I can’t talk about the plot without giving it away and, as you know, I hate spoilers, so all I will say is that this third novel is as well-written, gripping, and filled with surprises as the first two books in this fascinating trilogy. Beautiful and strong women, dark secrets, murders, the Catholic Church, and a freezing carnival night are just a few of the highlights that will end this nonstop adventure on a very high note.
The audio production of Surviving Venice is narrated by renowned actor and Tony award-winning Broadway performer Kristen Sieh, who you may know from blockbuster TV series such as House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, or Boardwalk Empire.
Kristen Sieh does a fantastic job with all the characters and the events once again. She reads, she acts, she puts her language skills to good use and raises the immersion for the listeners with instantly recognizable voices and authentic accents. She infuses the action with just the right level of emotion and urgency. After listening to all three audiobooks, I can say that she was definitely the right choice for this trilogy!
Surviving Venice is a great book on its own and a satisfying conclusion for The Venice Trilogy. I highly recommend all three audiobooks. Intriguing characters, exotic locations filled with secrets and dark mysteries, entertaining events and a fast-moving, well-written plot will keep you up late into the night.
Add to that a balanced narration from a superb voiceover artist and you have on your hands a winner!
I’ll keep my eye on this author from now on to see what’s next from her because I really enjoyed these stories.
