Although pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. This book offers a completely new paradigm and understanding of where our human experience comes from, allowing us to end our own suffering and create how we want to feel at any moment. Don't Believe Everything You Think is not about rewiring your brain, rewriting your past, or positive thinking. We cannot solve our problems with the same level of consciousness that created them. Tactics are temporary. An expansion of consciousness is permanent.

Making life move more smoothly
With some self reflection, I think it’s safe to state that most of us have words, actions, and behaviors from our pasts that we would go back and change if we could. Unfortunately, time machines don’t exist, at least not yet. And although it can be quite painful to realize when we have erred and acted or spoken out of emotion instead of acting like the cool, calm, and collected, clued-in, and stoic souls that our OCD wishes we were, these “mistakes” are actually the catalytic components we so desperately need in order to evolve into the emotionally intelligent Charizards we all admire. And M.L. Johnson kind of gives us the keys to the emotionally mature, rational, and forward thinking Lamborghini that will have us acting like less of a social nightmare and more of the kind of person others want to engage with. My favorite part of this title was the know-how on how to remain calm (as if you are un-triggered) in triggering events, confrontations, and situations. This stuff really goes a long way to making life move more smoothly.
