Hughes Farm was the largest racing-horse establishment in the South. The family that owned it was known to be wealthy, powerful, arrogant, and terrifying. My first encounter with them didn’t prepare me for all that was to come. I don’t think anything truly could have.

She’d died when I was a toddler. Having no other option, I trust this stranger and am thrown into a world of mansions, racing horses, extravagance, and him.

It’s true that there's a thin line between love and hate. But there's an even thinner line between truth and lies.

This is my first book by Abbi. I had been wanting to read her books for a while. But when I met her this spring, I made sure to move her books up on my list.

I listened to this audio and enjoyed it even though it was only a female narrator. Ingrid does really well with doing this book and both POVs. There were not many POVs from the male, so that made it better.

I really liked the characters and their story. It was easy to follow, and the characters are all likable.

This is a great start to a series and will hook you. You will not be able to stop at one book. This one ends on a cliffhanger of sorts, and you will want to know what happens.

I enjoyed reading the book but I hate cliff hangers. I love series but I like for them to finish the book. I’m also not big on books about mobsters. I hope they aren’t into selling drugs. They didn’t really get into exactly what kind of mob they are.

I have read some YA books from Abbi Glines, so I was curious what her 'grown up' books would be like, and I was impressed! The plot twist (insert mind blown emoji!) It was angsty, refreshing, and I now want a horse and a dark cowboy myself. I love how possessive the MMC became after his initial alphahole era. I can't wait to finish this series!

Extremely well written. I could not stop listening. I would give it a five if it had been recorded with both female and male narrators. The female is very good though.

I have been waiting months for this audio release and it did not disappoint. The story was classically addictive Abbi. The narration can make or break and this one was surprisingly solid. Bring on Book 2!

so so good~ It has been a while since I have listened to a really good book that pulled me in and one I did not want it to end. I can not wait for the rest of the books to come out. You won't be disappointed with Smokeshow!

This book kept me guessing the entire time! Bad boy Blaze keeps you guessing and until it’s revealed at the end, I wasn’t sure I liked him at all! Then…..a cliffhanger! Can’t wait for book 2!
