Acerca de esta escucha

In the grand tradition of Blackadder and Monty Python and the Holy Grail is the story of an anti-hero who can't help but find his way to greatness whether he likes it or not.

Apropos is a rogue, a rascal, a scoundrel, a cheat...and those are his good points. Lame of leg but fast of wit, the only reason Apropos doesn't consider chivalry dead is because he's not yet through with it. An orphan with a chip on his shoulder, Apropos, travels to the court of the good King Runcible, with three goals in mind: to find his father, seek retribution for the death of his mother, and to line his own pockets.

However, Apropos carries the most troublesome burden a would-be harbinger of chaos can bear: He may well be a hero foretold, a young man of destiny. It is not a notion that Apropos finds palatable, having very low regard for such notions as honor, selflessness, or risking one's neck. Yet when Apropos finds himself assigned as squire to the most senile knight in the court - Sir Umbrage of the Flaming Nether Regions, whose squires tend to have a rather short life span - Apropos is forced to rise to the occasion lest he be dragged under - permanently."

Narrated by: Bill Gillett, Casie Platt, Chris Genebach, Christopher Graybill, Colleen Delany, Dani Stoller, Dawn Ursula, Doug Brown, Elizabeth Jernigan, Eric Messner, Evan Casey, Helen Pafumi, Jeff Allin, Jonathan Feuer, Jonathon Church, Ken Jackson, Maboud Ebrahimzadeh, Marni Penning, Matthew Bassett, Michael Gleen, Michael John Casey, Nanette Savard, Nick DePinto, Richard Rohan, Sasha Olinick, Scott McCormick, Terence Aselford, and Tony Nam

I enjoyed this. GraphicAudio has a great cast. The reader for Apropos does an outstanding job. Apropos is the kind of chacater at times you love to hate; at others you hate to love. Hope there are more books.

fun, give a try

Translation from book to dramatization not up to Graphic Audio standards. Still, very good, and I will continue the series with anticipation.

Graphic Audio translation only good this time.

Previously read the book, enjoyed really enjoyed the dramatization. Can not wait to listen to the rest of the series.

The voice acting

Honestly I was struggling to enjoy the story as the main character is one of the least likable protagonists I've come across. However the character development makes it all come together nicely. In the end I ended up truly enjoying it. Minor note a few lines get repeated due to editing errors but it's maybe twice.

Surprisingly Good

Graphic Audio version made a solid 2 star book into a 3 star. I don't think i would have stuck with this til the end if I had read the physical version or if it was a normal audiobook.

The addition of Graphic Audio really made the somewhat sub standard plot stick out to make good junk food.

The characters were brought to life and were very enjoyable but it mostly felt like there was mainly just the MC to be concerned about as everyone else around him were made out and proven to be so temporary that it was difficult to get attached. By the time you were enjoying other characters they are written out of the story.

The plot meandered a bit and felt and once again proven to be aimless. By the end it felt like a waste of time due to continued lack of progress. I struggle to see how all the resets were added in like that, by the 5th time the joke or plot device like they lost its uniqueness.

Also the humor just wasn't as big of a focus as you'd think. There are funny moments here and there but overall the book is very dark, kinda disturbing even and doesn't have a good balance with the humor as by the time something to lighten it up comes around it's too late and it feels out of place even as it's been so long that you forget this book was trying to be funny every now and then.

I might get into the next Graphic Audio versions. It's a easy book, so easy it kinda plays in the background nicely.

Dark and a bit misleading giving the illusion of being a comedy.

Well, Great performance... but you are better off reading the story/book it's self. Lot's a the story got dropped/dumped for dramatization. The background sounds tend to over power the 'Narration'

Well, Great performance... but

I remember reading these books years ago and enjoying such a flawed "hero". While that is still the case I now see Apropos in a very different light. Peter David, weather on purpose or not I have no idea, has created an almost perfect example of Borderline Personality Disorder. The self loathing, emptiness, the belief he knows what others are thinking, the impulsivity, textbook.
While I still enjoy the gags and jokes I have a deeper appreciation for the novel. I have no idea if this was Mr David's intent but I am grateful nonetheless.

Good Production
