To succeed they're going to have to get through an army, patrols of dogmen, and at least 3,000 dreadmen. And that's just in the world of flesh, for Mokad also has forces in the world of souls.

The odds against Talen and Sugar are immense. At the same time, their powers are awakening. And what they learn just might give mankind a chance against the army poised to annihilate them.

As with the first two novels, this one doesn't disappoint with its foreboding intrigue, newer revelations and fast-paced delivery. The whole concept of normal, yellow (soul) and blue (tracker) realms was unique and interestingly different than often depicted in other fantasy novels. There continued to be an ample amount of sarcasm and humor sprinkled throughout but, by far, the one time that hit me completely unawares was when the oafish Eresh who, while besotted with the creek widow, made an outlandish compliment about her skills for being old and she angrily shot back, "Old?!" Then, thinking better of it, he replied, "Ripe".

There were a few areas of disappointment. The final epic battle was too Iliad-like intricate, which tended to get tedious after several encounters. The ending left more than a few loose ends as well as a number of hints at perhaps there being a follow-on book, Glory, but since it's been almost 3 years since this one and no estimate when it is forthcoming, it is a bitter pill to swallow.

Fresh spin on fantasy

It was a good tale, it's nice to get away from this world for a little while.

It has a good ending that wraps things up, some books leave you on the edge of your seat at the end, it's hard on my brain to do that and I like when things wrap up, yes there is still room in this ending for the story to continue but for now this book has come to a close. That is how a book should be.

Wow, what an incredible series! I absolutely CAN'T wait for book 4! I would say that it easily compares to both "The Wheel of Time" and "The Stormlight Archive." If you liked either one of those you'll be right at home here. :D

If you are looking for a epic fantasy that feels new, fresh, and thrilling look no further than the Dark God series. Wonderful narration and an amazing story deliver in the third book in the series!

Intriguing, captivating and original. One of the best fantasy series I have read/listened to. The world and lore is fresh and new with neither rehashed orcs nor elves races. The afterlife part is quite intriguing, similar to that of Robert Jordan's dream world in some ways, and The Matrix in others. Can't wait for the fourth book!

What did you love best about Raveler?

The big battle has finally come, and there is an ending of sorts. Talen and Sugar are coming into their own powers and skills. Another exciting book.

Which character – as performed by Alex Wyndham – was your favorite?

I think Alex Wyndham did an excellent job with all the characters.

Any additional comments?

I initially though this series would be a trilogy, and this book does seem to bring an ending to the initial storyline. From the way the book ended I suspect this story will continue on. I hope the author will continue to expand this world and give us more insight to the surroundings. I am looking forward to future works from both John D. Brown and Alex Wyndham.

Generally good evening but he is obviously eluding to a continued story that apparently is never going to happen. So, it ends but doesn't actually end fully.
