Fortunetellers. Demotivational speakers. Disillusioned shapeshifters.
You never know quite who—or what—you'll run into in Psychic City, but that's what makes life interesting for a PsyOps agent.
Penny is a spirit medium hounded by hordes of undead fans.
Karen is an empath who spends most of her time hiding beneath an oversized hoodie.
Viv is an eideticist with prophetic visions, a photographic memory, and a lot of baggage she'd just as soon forget.
They might not always know exactly what they're doing, but when they're working together to investigate paranormal crime, they get results.
That's until a string of murders targets the city's psychic population, hitting a little close to home, and putting the trio of detectives to the ultimate test.

If you enjoy a good murder mystery with urban fantasy elements, you've found your next listen. If you enjoy strong female leads... enough that you'd like *three* of them, you've found your next listen. If you enjoy books that center queer people and experiences without being coming out stories or the similar romantic fantasy we tend to see, you've found your next listen.
Page Turner creates a truly lifelike urban fantasy alternative timeline to our own, in which people with psychic powers have become a norm in the world, and explores themes of marginalization, identity, romance, and what it means to love and be loved by your partners, friends, and family thru the lens of a murder mystery. The red herrings and twists are likewise excellent and kept me guessing, and seeing every breadcrumb that got me there (or led me astray) once I got to the end. It is a smart and incredibly well-written book.
This isn't a cozy read, at least not for me, but it is one I will return to again and again. The characters feel like a queer homecoming. If you like quippy (often dark) humor, an unflinching examination of the human condition, and mysteries you will likely enjoy this book.
An excellent performance; can't wait for the next!
