All human endeavors have the common goal of understanding or influencing human experience. To this end, man has developed numerous descriptive and analytical disciplines: morality, philosophy, psychology, and so on. Regardless of what branch of inquiry one starts from (philosophy, political theory, theology) all avenues of investigation eventually converge at a common meeting point: the quest for an organized understanding of the nature of pure consciousness.

To explain that which is simple can be difficult indeed. Much of this book is devoted to the process of making the simple obvious. If we can understand even one simple thing in depth, we will have greatly expanded our capacity for comprehending the nature of the universe and life itself.

I've repeated this book several times. I can't seem to put it away. Ever wonder why some people command power over you? Ever consider using force to counter a power over you? Ever wonder why it blows up in your face, and fails miserably? Human behavior and interaction is based on so many variables I've always thought it impossible to derive an equation that makes sense. But here are 48 equations, or rules that shed light on the mystery of the basics of human social hierarchy. They work. They've been working for centuries.

I LOVE the contents of this book. It is my opinion that this knowledge would benefit EVERYONE. --HOWEVER, the narrator of this book -respectfully- speaks in too much of a monotone for the reader to be able to listen for any length of time and thus absorb the material well. I adore Audible for am not only an auditory learner, but it also allows me to squeeze in education & entertainment that I would not otherwise have time for while in college & practice full-time. I kindly & respectfully suggest for this book to be redone with another narrator in which to better be able to share this powerful information & tool.

While some find the narration difficult, I've listened to this book so many times that Hawkins voice brings me deep comfort. If my head and heart are full of emotions, I listen to bring me back to peace and myself. This is the first book I listened to of its kind after leaving strict religion and I fell in love with this book and others from Hawkins. I'm beyond grateful for his teachings and books, they've been life changing for me.

monologue voice IS THE OLD SCHOOL TEACHERS STYLE MONOLOGUE STRAIGHT NO DIALOGUE LIKE A OLD SCHOOL VIDEO BUT POWER VERSUS FORCE IS AS OLD AS TIME SO IT WAS IN THE RIGHT VEIN SOME OF THESE YOUNG COMPUTER GENERATION PEOPLE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE ENTERTAINED BY IT BUT IT'S NOT FOR ENTERTAINMENT AND IT'S NOT INFOTAINMENT IT'S EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION.....still better than AI THOUGH!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who finds that as hard as they try, their life isn't moving in the direction they would like to see it go. Insightful, matter of fact, and purely elevating, this book is a gem.
