Let me start by saying that both actors were great. Even though I didn't enjoy the way the MFC was written, it was still a flawless audio presentation. I just felt she was mean to the MMC past the point where it made sense and when she lashed out at him and couldn't really get past herself to apologize right away...that irked my spirit. In other news Connor Crais is flawless as always. ❤️

3.5 Stars ⭐️ Overruled was fine. The physical part of the romance started in the prologue, which made didn’t help build their chemistry. The character growth was good, and the overall plot was good. I just needed more romantic moments.

I thought the performance and major plot was good. I appreciated that there were no loose ends so I don’t need to read a follow up book though. I don’t mind steamy parts to books, this one just took it to a place that was too much at times. I’m sure it’s just right for some, just not me.

This book was fantastic. I’d been waiting and had it preordered! The characters and banter are great. I love that there is more than the love story that is really gripping too!

Lana Ferguson is the queen of banter! This was an excellent, steamy enemies to lovers story. The performances were perfect!

Unfortunately I was left very underwhelmed with this book. There was zero angst. The plot was thin. It was smut then courtroom drama then smut then more smut. Throw in a twist that you can see coming a mile away. The narrators did their best with the material given but they lacked any emotion. I usually enjoy these narrators but they just sounded robotic. I’m super disappointed because I enjoy this author so much but this book just fell flat. She is amazing at writing angsty novels but this one felt like it was written by someone else. Definitely not worth the credit.

I very much enjoyed this book. I liked that there was a little mystery brewing in the back ground and even though I’m not a lawyer it was so hot when they bantered in lawyer speak! Ezra was so sweet and mysterious and Dani was such a strong and whitty woman. You just couldn’t help but love them both. I’ll look for more books by this author!

🎧📚Overruled by Lana Ferguson ⚖️🔥

Okay, so I just finished Overruled and I am OBSESSED. Like, why are divorce lawyers who argue in court but hook up outside of it suddenly my new favorite trope?! I need more of this. Enemies with benefits? Yes, please. 🙋‍♀️

Dani is a total powerhouse. She’s smart, sharp, and laser focused on her career (honestly, icon behavior). She’s got her walls way up and is determined to keep things strictly physical with Ezra... which is totally fine, except for the tiny little problem that Ezra Hart is ridiculously charming, lowkey sensitive, and clearly falling for her. And when I say I did not expect to fall for him the way I did… I mean it. 😩 At first, I was like, “Ugh, here we go, another cocky guy with a smirk,” but the man has LAYERS. Like an onion. Or a very hot, emotionally intelligent lasagna. 😂

What really made this book hit was how layered it was. Yes, it’s steamy (SO steamy 👀), but it’s also got heart. I loved how Dani and Ezra’s relationship paralleled the couple they were representing: two people who couldn’t figure out how to communicate or stay connected. Watching Dani and Ezra argue their way through the courtroom while slowly starting to understand and support each other outside of it? Mwah. Perfection.

Also… can we talk about how good this was on audio? The narration had so much personality and really brought Dani and Ezra to life. The tension, the banter, the heat were all just hitting on another level.

So if you're into:
💼 Hot lawyers with serious chemistry
⚖️ Enemies with complicated benefits
💔 Emotional walls being torn down (and I mean torn)
🎧 And a narrator that brings it ALL to life on audio...
then Overruled needs to go straight to the top of your TBR.

Lana Ferguson really said “let me give you steam AND feelings” and I am HERE FOR IT. 10/10 would let Ezra object to my life choices and then make me a very emotionally supportive breakfast the next morning.

Lawyers but make it super hot

Ezra “Heartbreak Prince” Hart and Danika “Sour Patch” Pierce are a rivals to lovers match made in heaven . Ezra is my most favorite type of MMC - the type of guy who is willing to be a banter filled jerk if it means he gets to be in the FMC life .. and Ezra does just that because of how down bad he is for Dani . Dani is just as wonderful because of how real and raw she was trying to deal with all of her emotions while not burdening others with them .

Everything Lana Ferguson writes is incredible and I can’t recommend her books enough .

This book can be read as a complete stand alone .

Story was just okay and never really pulled me in at any point. I actually found the mfc Dani to be pretty annoying too. She just wines for the first half of the book
