I have listened to NJ, IL, and I can't tell you the excitement I felt when I saw NC was available. I have been a resident of NC since 1991 and I was NOT impressed by the stories or the narrator's portrayal of a southern accent. Also there are 3 stories that have recording issues. This book seriously disappointed me.

The stories are good.

What didn’t you like about Jack Wallen Jr.’s performance?

Mr. Wallen's performance would have bee better if he did not try to do character voices and simply read the stories. His portrayal of North Carolina speech patterns and accents are so far off the mark it does nothing but perpetuate the image of the "dumb, illiterate hick".

Could you see North Carolina being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
