Acerca de esta escucha

What would happen if the noisiest, most talkative class of 5th graders in history dared each other not to talk for 48 hours? This is the premise Andrew Clements explores in one of his most compelling stories yet.©2007 Andrew Clements. All rights reserved (P)2007 Simon and Schuster Inc. All rights reserved. Reseñas de la Crítica

"Despite the rivalry that started the contest, the longstanding animosity between the boys and girls dissipates as the students bond over the experiment. Presuming the novel doesn't generate similar contests in real life, readers may be compelled to use their voices to praise Clement's deft handling of an interesting premise." ( Publishers Weekly)

I liked this story more than some of the other books by Andrew Clements and the narrating is spot on!

Good plot

Clements - as always - breaks the Children's fiction mold today that puts adults in the backseat and lets kids rule the world. In this book, the kids remain the center of the text while adults are portrayed as real people - smart, flawed, and good. Refreshing!

another amazing title

I think it was one of the best Battle of the Books books of 2024-2025 and if thought this was amazing then go read Willodeen or Fish in a tree if you haven’t already

The story was a great read, my three kids sat quietly on the road trip! They were entertained and inspired to start their own game!

The family listened to this on a long drive. It was a wonderful story, well written, well narrated, and a total delight. Even the skeptical teens couldn't wait to turn it back on after stops.

This is a top choice in children's fiction.

Utterly Delightful!

Perfect book for 4th or 5th graders. Thought-provoking, funny, realistic. Good for read-aloud classrooms. Perhaps exchange one word "shut up" (in book) for "be quiet" or explain reference as in when the book was written- that was an acceptable word at that publishing time. Highly recommend.

10 out of 10 rating!
