A slightly barbed joke turns serious when a parallel reality has a very different outcome for both the Talia and the future of the entire Galaxy, and an increasing number of "missionaries" decide it is preferable …

Of course Abby, Brad, and the others in the small Place community have no idea they are being watched from far in the future. Apart from Abby being scared spitless by a close-up of a raptor in action, and Pierce pushing to take Place's benign healing properties to a more widespread level, things at their point in time are nicely busy but not dramatically affecting the future. Then the Talians find an alternative reality where life on Place has one, just one, different colonist and the alternative history for the Talians is catastrophic - or wonderful. Depending whether you're a traditionalist or more of a Talian missionary, really.

This cozy trilogy has engaging characters, some of them indigenous animals, and for the reader the future ahead on several different fundamental fronts is explored a little further than in the first in the trilogy. Ciencia Ficción Ucronía
