Desmond Bagley
Action thriller by the classic adventure writer set in the Pacific.
When Mark Trevelyan dies on a journey to a remote Pacific atoll, the verdict that it was natural causes doesn’t convince his brother, Mike. The series of violent attacks that follows only adds to his suspicions. Just two clues – a notebook in code and a lump of rock – are enough to trigger off a hazardous expedition, and a violent confrontation far from civilization…

Reseñas de la Crítica
'As long as meticulous craftsmanship and honest entertainment are valued, and as long as action, authenticity, and expertise still make up the strong framework of the good adventure/thriller, Desmond Bagley's books will surely be read.' REGINALD HILL, Twentieth Century Crime and Mystery Writers
‘The detail is immaculately researched – the action has the skill to grab your heart or your bowels.’ DAILY MIRROR
'Mr Bagley has no equal at this sort of thing.' SUNDAY MIRROR

I also don't like the use of general terms like "scientist." Real life scientists would refer to their trade much more specifically. "Marine geologist" would have better described Mike Trevelian than "oceanographer". But I'm being picky. This is a good book for a guy. If you like Michael Crichton, Bernard Cornwell, Andy Weir I think you would enjoy this book. Bagley is not in their class but I think you'll find it entertaining.
Very good but predictable seafaring tale
