About the Creator

Neal Stephenson is the author of several novels, including Snow Crash, Cryptonomicon, and the upcoming climate change techno-thriller Termination Shock. He has also written nonfiction, generally in a scientific/technical vein. He has worked for technology companies such as Blue Origin, Intellectual Ventures Labs, and most recently Magic Leap, where he served as chief futurist until April 2020. In that capacity he headed up a small R&D squad bringing engineers and artists together to produce original content for augmented reality devices, and to investigate anomalies.

Austin Grossman is an award-winning game designer and the author of three novels: Soon I Will Be Invincible, You, and Crooked. None of these came to him in recurring dreamlike visions of an alternate reality. Why would you even ask that?

Sean Stewart has won a World Fantasy Award, an Emmy, a Cannes Gold Lion—all sorts of things. Google "I Love Bees" or "Cathy's Book" or "Mockingbird" or "The Beast." Those things really happened. The point is, if he were to suddenly disappear, people would notice. The picture on his Wikipage isn't actually a picture of him, which he finds unnerving. No, scratch that. Maybe it's better this way.

Gregory Connors is an actor, playwright, and mechanical engineer born in Cleveland, and based in New York. A graduate of New York University's Tisch MFA Graduate Acting Program, recent projects include: The Blacklist (NBC), FBI: Most Wanted (CBS), Coriolanus (The Public Theater Shakespeare in the Park), New Found Land: The Long Haul (Audible), Starfinder (Amazon), We Are (ESPN 30 for 30).

About the Performer

Izabel Mar (she/they) is an actor and intimacy coordinator based in New York. She made her off-broadway debut in the Drama Desk and Lortel Award nominated Mac Beth and she will be seen as "Maya" in the A24 Kelly Reichardt film Showing Up. Mar loves to play a Dolly Parton song on her ukulele and is always ready to impress with her Aubrey Plaza impression.

Steve is an award-winning actor that has appeared on Broadway and across the country in more than 35 regional theaters. He's done Shakespeare, Chekhov, Stoppard, Odets, Moliere, as well as dozens of musicals and comedies. Film and television work includes The Wolf of Wall Street, Inside Llewyn Davis, Fosse/Verdon, The Irishman, and The Trial of the Chicago Seven. In addition to stage and film work Steve has made appearances with the NYC Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, and New Haven Symphony. He was an award-winning member of the BMI Lehman Engel Writers Workshop, creating lyrics for musical theater. Additionally, he has appeared in commercials for Apple, Microsoft, E*Trade, and Geico among others.

Jay is an actor/director who’s been fortunate enough to appear on Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional theatre and TV, and has been doing voiceovers for over ten years. He has voiced for feature films and has been heard on Nickelodeon, WB, Cartoon Network, Fox TV, the SciFi Channel, EWam, and the new CW4Kids. Best known for his work on Saturday morning cartoons like Yu-Gi-Oh! (lead), Viva Pinata (lead), Sonic X, and Pokemon, he has also worked on many other animations and can currently be heard in Gogoriki, Pat and Stan, and Chaotic. His other voiceover work includes several audiobooks, documentaries, promos, and commercials and he continues to be grateful not to have to have a "real job".

Actor and writer, Amber Reauchean Williams, is a Philadelphia native and current Brooklynite. She received her B.F.A. in Theatre Arts at Boston University's School of Theatre and since leaving Boston, she has graced the big and the small screen as well as performed in theaters around the world from New York City to Oslo, Norway. Her audiobook credits include Miss Muriel and Other Stories by Ann Petry and Feminist Fairy Tales by Ellen Haun and Laura Lane. John Zdrojeski is an actor and singer/songwriter based out of New York City. Why did we decide to share this story?
"It started in 2018. We were working at an augmented reality startup when scientists upstairs noticed some glitches on the device. Some claimed these looked too coherent to be mere noise in the system. Of course, it couldn’t actually let you see parallel worlds. That's crazy talk. Still, we got curious. Some digging led us to Charity Kong’s YouTube videos and TheYarnies.com, a fan group for the golden age comic book company Stupefying Yarns, which they claim has been erased from history. In spring 2020 we suggested distributing the "New Found Land" material. The fact we were all laid off at this time is probably a coincidence. The scientists who noticed the "glitches"were long gone. Also, TheYarnies.com is now an Indonesian travel site. We are now independent agents sitting on a thumb drive whose contents may have profound implications across three worlds. The podcasts, the jetpacks, the Oracle of Delphi, and the lewd animatronic unicorn—it’s all here. We can't vouch for any of this stuff, but since we seem to be the sole custodians, we felt a responsibility to put it out there. Audible has bravely shared the risk of making this material public. Quite enjoyable for a long road-trip! Only one request— would ask the producers to downplay the road and engine noises as they often drowned out the voices and to balance the voices so if someone is whispering I can hear them without turning up the volume and then getting blasted by the next voice 😀

But please, do something about the recording quality; the sound levels jumped around, making it difficult to listen to with earphones.
