It has been two years, thirteen days, and twelve hours since the freaks came out of hiding. Now they are a part of everyday life; so vanilla that some people don't see the subtle shades of difference between them and the normal humans. But there are differences, and some humans will stop at nothing to make sure these freaks are never considered normal. Nowhere is this clearer than where very human Lilah Wright goes to school, JWB High school. Lilah was once a champion for the downtrodden and bullied, her former best friend, Oliver Payne, would attest to that. That was until the monsters from her nightmares came out of hiding and started living right alongside her friends and family just like it was the most natural thing in the world.

Now the true spirit of tolerance will be tested within the changing face of the society. With a cast defiant parents and friends, intolerant social groups, and the newly integrated supernatural population the hallways of JWB High School and the town of Silver Falls becomes the center of a battle of conviction, tolerance, and acceptance. Can vampires, witches, shapeshifters, and all other sorts of supernaturals coexist with humans?

Carol Matthews wrote midnight angel as an amazing story. Cassandra Arnold is an amazing narrator she brought the world of midnight angel to life. The story has betrayal, fated love,violence, danger, intrigue, friendship, and a religious aspect. Not all humans ready for the paranormal. The characters are well developed. it’s not your usual vampire story if they were real this would be probably the way they come out. It does have an SA attempt and some violence. I did get the book for free for a honest review.

Midnight Angel is a well written book that includes everything from hated to a budding romance. I really enjoyed this book it offered drama, suspense, betrayal. and growth. The characters are well written and developed. The storyline is well thought out and besides dealing with vampires, goblins etc is truly believable in this day and age. I don't want to give away any spoilers but TW there is a SA attempt but other than that the book is unique and powerful. I highly recommend this book to anyone over 18. I received this book for free at my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review here of my own free will.

Interesting take on the paranormal meets human world. Gave me True Blood vibes. Just when I thought it was getting predictable, the author throws in a pleasant little surprise

Oliver and Lyla . Oliver is a vampire. Lyla is human. Her father is the pastor of the local church. When the supernaturals came out public, her father was furious. His determination to rid the world of the abomination, he preached against them and talked of an up coming war. Lyla, once spout the crap her father believes but not believing herself, she and Oliver have an attraction that can’t be broken not even by her fathers and his minions.
Lyla is a strong young woman that had to build courage to stand up to her father’s senseless beliefs. She was also brave as she stood up to her peers to confront the injustices that they were doing to Oliver and other supernaturals.
Oliver was loyal and protector Lyla, but also to his friends. He would put his life on the line to protect the woman he loves and cared deeply about how she was feeling.
This was a heart wrenching story to listen to but done very well. It’s set around a group of high school students that deal with very adult situations of prejudices. The narration was done flawlessly. I enjoyed the audiobook very much and would recommend this for everyone.
Betrayal, prejudices, fated love, violence, danger, wonderful cast of characters, and happily ever after.

This one just wasn’t for me. The story had a lot of tension, but I struggled to connect with the main character and her choices. I kept hoping she would find her voice and stand up for herself and others. The dynamic between the main characters felt more frustrating than engaging, and I wished for more depth in their development. Oliver, however, was a standout, and I appreciated his presence in the story. While the narration was neutral for me—it didn’t add or take away from the experience—the book just didn’t pull me in the way I’d hoped. While this one wasn’t for me, I know others may connect with it differently.
