Tate Murphy is a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. She grew up a million miles away from the easy life Matt Chase has had. She's spent her life pulling herself and her siblings up and out of that trailer by the railroad tracks and she hasn't looked back. Matt Chase is a dream of a guy and she's certainly not going to turn down a short fling with one of the most handsome men she's ever seen! Matt Chase has watched each one of his brothers find love and he knows he's ready for that too.
It's all a matter of finding the woman who captures his heart. He's certainly sampled his fair share of them but none has moved him the way Tate Murphy does when he goes to her shop one day. But as Matt gets to know Tate and appreciate her strength and unique beauty, he also realizes she's got some big self-esteem issues about her past. To build a future, he's got to find a way past some big road blocks.

Tate is a strong character but she has had a bad upbringing, is from the wrong side of the tracks, has fought hard to bring her four siblings up, is a bit bigger than the 'norm' and has very low self esteem because of it whereas Matt is gorgeous, from a wealthy well respected loving family that's got good standing in the town. All this make for a very volatile relationship as there's jealousies from girls, town talk, family conflicts and a bitter Father.
But this book was my least favorite because of Tate's CONSTANT insecurities which causes a lot of angst and emotional drama throughout the book and she just doesn't listen to Matt when he tries to reassure her. Lots of sex and it was great to hear the latest news from the rest of the Chase family. Dual POV's and a great narrator.
Worth a credit? I've really enjoyed this series and it's characters and I'll miss every one of them. A creditworthy ending to great series….. I can't wait to see who Lauren Dane's next family will be?

This is my favorite of the 3 Chase Brothers books currently available in Audible.
Loved the Christmas speech by Edward, the Chase Family Patriarch.
George did ok for narration. She did better with different character voices in this book but there were several times when I couldn’t tell which character was talking.

I liked Matt & Tate as a couple. My biggest complaint was that I wanted more of them. Time with them as a couple was very limited and a lot of it was Tate talking Matt down after weird petty actions by town folk. There was a lot of his family, her family, and too many squabbles between the MCs. There’s sex, but I wanted more romance.
The stories are fairly simple and easy to listen to and binge. While I didn’t like that the epilogue skimped on Matt & Tate – Edward’s speech and some final announcements were a great way to end the series.
There’s also a spin-off series “Petal, Georgia” featuring some of Tate’s siblings that I might check out.
Note about the cover: I know this is an older book & authors don’t always have any control… but sheesh, could they have picked a thinner woman to be on the cover of a book with a fat MC?
Narration:
Aletha George does a great job again. She’s given all the characters unique voices & personalities that stay consistent through the series. This one has some pretty emotional parts too that are very well done.
