Magic is a tricky thing, especially if you've got topsy-turvy spells. Melissa Sneedle recently escaped her magical town and went headfirst into owning and operating her own bookstore in the normal world. She'd love nothing more than to live a calm life but the trouble with running away from life's pressures is they always find a way to catch up to you. With strange surges of power showing up in her spells, Melissa begins to realize she may be out of her element and causing danger to everyone around her. If she doesn't figure out how to control her power soon, she may cause a lot more trouble than a wonky spell here and there.
With a begrudging trip back to her old witch college for some magical guidance, it doesn't take Melissa long to figure out there's someone with a hidden agenda who is plotting against her.

Fabulous for All The Right Reasons!
Ever since her move to Maple Springs, and the world of the “normies”, Melissa Sneedle’s magic has been more unpredictable than ever! When Aunt Judy proposes some “special tutoring” back at her old witch college … the one Melissa fled in disgrace after accidentally blowing up a lab … Melissa reluctantly agrees. Unfortunately, once “Magic Hits the Books” … it’s clear memories are long … and the nefarious intend to take full advantage! The familiars are fabulous, the story a treat, and the characters perfect in this, the second installment of a brilliantly imaginative series! The familiars, oh the familiars in this story, this series, have captured my heart! I’m not going to reveal ANY of them, just know they are VERY different from the norm you’ve come upon before! I also love the continuing evolution of the characters, especially the unexpected direction a character can take as their role is expanded! One in this story is delightfully surprising and refreshingly brilliant! No names here, you’ll know WHO when you get there! Now on to the story! What an emotional winner! This beautifully immersive, emotional, story flows smoothly, easily consuming my full attention from beginning to end! I felt for, AND with, these wonderful, deeply defined characters! I even felt for the ne’er do wells … though those feelings might not have been the ones I should write home to mother about! The point is, every single character made me FEEL, they all resonated as REAL, and they all have a purpose in the story! I felt WITH this story! I loved every single second I listened as the PERFECT narration beautifully added to the feeling of realism! I loved the way the story and the characters came beautifully, brilliantly, ALIVE, exactly as the author intended! I could SEE the story! I could FEEL the story! Every voice suited perfectly to the characters personality, every emotion conveyed and nuanced perfectly! I loved, FIVE fantastic stars LOVED every aspect, every component, of this fabulous story!

Everybody
I hate because her magic is wonky, they keep bringing or blaming every messed up situation on her wonky magic, hopefully her magic gets together better at the end

Melissa’s Next Chapter - Fun as the First
The second book in this series was just as fun as the first! Melissa is still learning to cope with her powers and figure out how to use them effectively—in a positive way. Unfortunately, she’s still in the learning phase, so it takes effort, but she’s growing stronger and improving every step of the way. I’m excited to continue following Melissa’s magical journey and see how the romance develops. Pretty Boy once again stole the show - he is such a cool familiar!
Shannon Nicole Locke’s performance continues to elevate the story. A solid five stars from me!
