A Tahlia Vedra Audiobook

Rogue. Mercenary. Champion. Tahlia Vedra is all these things and more. But overcoming the new threat facing Hammerhal Aqsha will require more than just her battlefield experience.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It’s a gripping tale where the legendary Tahlia Vedra must use all her skills to overcome a new threat. But what can she do against a Chaos Warlord and master strategist who can seemingly anticipate her every move?

THE STORY

When Chaos Warlord Mausolus Ebonpyre’s forces annihilate a well-defended citadel, Tahlia is thrown into the bloody arena of Sigmarite politics.

Surrounded by uncertain allies and hidden foes, Tahlia must forge common ground with old rivals, overcome betrayal from within, and learn the arts of diplomacy to face down Ebonpyre, a master schemer and strategist. To save Hammerhal from total war, Tahlia must become more than just a soldier – she must become a leader. She must become the Lioness of the Parch.

I thought the era of girl boss fiction had started to die in the theaters. The super masculine women just don't draw an audience and you would think corporations would see that in the revenue stream. Well it's alive and well in this piece of literature. I don't know when I'm the story I realized how stupid it was getting. It wasn't during the blindfolded one arm tied behind back giant scorpion wrestling but I bet if I had put the book down there I would not have been disappointed. Overall this is just poor fantasy. Sigmar has some good books but this is not one of them. Don't get me wrong it's not terrible it's just below average and I think will not age well. Unlike some books I just expect very few will remember it after a week. Certainly does not make me interested in picking up the model or the Cities of Sigmar range.

Girl boss powers through by shear power

A fun story that really knits together the new Freeguild Character into the AoS lore. Definitely worth a listen if you are a fan of the mortals in the mortal realms as it shows the politics and war from their point of view.

Excellent Story of a Newly Introduced Character

while the book was a bit of a slow starter, I can accept that for a story featuring unestablished characters. one it got going though it was a joy to listen to the whole way through. The political parts of the story were well done, the battles were an excellent mix of action and tactical acumen, and the cast was very enjoyable. Thalia herself may be one of my new favorite Warhammer characters; she feels very real, so to speak, like a person that could exist (if we had manticores to ride).

There was one part at the end of chapter 10 where it seemed like they had to rerecord a bit and instead of editing it in they just overlapped it and made the rerecord louder, it was jarring and lazy editing work on GWs part, but was only a few seconds long.

There is a strong chance I'll be listening to this one a second time and I hope we see a sequal

A Great Debut for a Great Character

fun story for city of sigmar fans. narration lack luster to many nasally male voices that sound to similar.

Good story bad narration

The characters are quite one dimensional. Theres a decent story but you could see and anticipate the twists coming. Overall an average read.

An average book

Genuinely one of the most boring audiobooks from the Warhammer collection. It’s all from Tahlia’s perspective which has the drawback of leaving everyone else with 0 depth. The main antagonist is just a name for 99% of the book. And the immersion is mediocre at best. They use a Warhammer words as if just using them is immersion enough but go into no details or specifics. It felt like it was written by a first time middle school fiction writer.

Just Skip It

Really disappointing. Poor story and character development really did not enjoy. Expect better from black library to be honest

What a waste of a story
