iIf you are experiencing betrayal trauma start with this book. Most in-depth book I've found, get for the betrayed and offending partner. Also recommend The Betrayal Bind by Michelle Mays.

this book was full of things I had forgotten but needed to remember so I can refocus on my healing rather than getting stuck in the neverending black hole of unanswered questions and feeling so insignificant that I'm no longer myself and can't function as I should in life...highly recommend!

Excellent book for help when no one understands. This will help them understand your pain and the long road to healing. So many people want to rush you thru grief and this type is a death to what was. Like suicide or miscarriages it is taboo to talk about. So this book was a game changer for me. I felt so understood by the author and while my marriage didn’t make it at least I knew I wasn’t crazy or taking too long to move forward.

Intimate Deception nailed down the “Final Answers” to many questions for me. Experiencing betrayal in my own life as well as watching the lives of people who crossed my path who experienced it, caused me to doubt myself as a woman, a woman if God, and as a human being. This book put the puzzle pieces of my life together, helping to validate my own evaluation of what I have been through.

Thankful, thankful, thankful to Dr. Sheri Keffer for her transparency, love, and nurturing heart that birthed this book into life for others.

The author reads her own book and it is beyond helpful in understanding what you're going through, how the brain works... I can't even describe how much this book helped me while going through the biggest trial of my life. If you've been sexually betrayed in *any* way, be it a cheating partner, a sex addicted partner, or a partner who has betrayed you through watching and hiding a porn addiction... whatever the case, you need to read this book.

I can easily replace the word woman with a man in my brain. But I am a man who has gone through traumatic betrayal are the magnitude that I could never have imagined. Nothing I’ve ever heard of was at the level that was perpetrated upon me by a very disturbed person. An actress who she herself was abused and tormented throughout her life primarily through religion.
I would love this and other books to really interchange the genders. Tell stories of experiences of both men and women.

It is a misnomer that women are affected more than men. I would venture to say that the trauma inflicted by those who are unbalanced have equally affected both (all) genders. Please look into neurofeedback, it saved my life. G

I’ve read this book three full times now and refer back to it all the time. It was such a light in the middle of so much darkness. It was exactly what I needed to “sort through the rubble.” Sheri is such a gem. I’m so thankful for her vulnerability. A true righteous oak (Isaiah 61:3).
