I really enjoyed this series. Great plot and character development. I highly recommend. Ms. Harris is such a talented writer and storyteller. I like all her books.

In this installment, Calexa decides to trust a few people with helping out in investigating a murder … yet won’t take action to investigate her own attempted murder, and won’t talk to the police. I suppose it fits with her anxiety and paranoia, but it seemed silly that she’d hide so hard from her past yet jump into danger and confrontations when investigating someone else’s death. There’s mild cussing, but this is still appropriate for tweens.

The heroine keeps saying "I have to be careful" and then proceeds not to be careful. Like every 3-5 minutes. ugh.
