Sometimes the predictability of a story tends to diminish the story but in this case it was so good I didn’t care that I knew what the twists were. Great read!!!

Sebastian and Death

I found the beginning to be a bit slow, and almost moved on to a different book. I’m glad I didn’t. Once Death was introduced, I found myself hanging on to every twist and turn. I’m glad I stuck it out, loved it!

Great story with decent narration! There were points where you could hear the male narrator swallowing but I'll blame that on editing, that Australian accent though? I'll take lots more of that please! The female narrator also pronounced certain words in a way that drove me nuts (her saying "record" goodness gracious lol) but overall they both did a great job.

Ella as a character drove me a bit nuts but I can't really say why without giving away parts of the story! Sebastian was amazing and I really loved the age gap aspect but as always Death was my favorite character - he is pitch black but still shows softness for Ella and I loved that.

I was thinking this was a standalone but I see there is a sequel on Goodreads and I am SO happy because I still had a few questions by the epilogue. CANNOT WAIT for it to be out on audio so I can enjoy the next part of the story!

At a certain point in the book I wasn't sure how I was feeling about it but the more I got through the book the more I ended up loving it!

If you have any sort of trigger please check for trigger warning before listening to this. There is a lot going on.

I love love loved this book. So many twists, turns and OMG moments. You can't help but fall for all these flawed characters. Each with their secrets and own issues but together are perfect.

The narrators were simply amazing, I think I have a new favorite in John Hartley. They made this story very interesting to listen to and drew you right into the story.
