Even though I’m 65 years old, I’m a complete novice when it comes to drinking coffee.
I started watching James’ YT videos about a year ago and found his passion for coffee compelling. And while I can’t say that I truly enjoy coffee yet, this book is helping me to better understand coffee’s nuances and how to brew it properly.

If you are a coffee aficionado, you will find everything you need in this book. It is a comprehensive and informative guide to the world of coffee. The author shares his expertise and experience to help you make the perfect cup of coffee, regardless of your brewing method.

The author is also a good presenter, which makes the book pleasant to listen to. The book also serves as a reference, more easily used in the physical or digital book format. However, the sections of interest can be marked for future reference.

It was very good and included a lot of relevant information that I think would have required months of research for me to even partially figure out on my own. If you want to start a small coffee shop or become really good at brewing coffee, this book is worth it. Maybe if you have already spent a lot of time reading and experimenting, you will know a lot of what's in this book. But I don't mean that in the average sense. I already knew a lot about making pour overs, but still learned a significant amount about making pour overs and the mechanics and chemistry of brewing from this book. The author could have gone deeper into some technical aspects but that would have made the book longer. Seriously, nothing like this book is available for free, including on the author's YouTube channel. I hope the author gets into home air roasting and writes a book about that. My one criticism is that I don't like espresso and wish more of the book had been devoted to grinding and other brew methods. Either way though this should become like a classic short reference on coffee brewing.

if this book is narrated by anyone by James Hoffmann it wouldnt have been good. His voice does make this a thousand time better perfect for long road trips

I wish James would do mire audible narration, so nice to listen to! Of course, the contents matter as well, and this book delivers exactly what I had hoped. 5 stars plus some. :)
