Acerca de esta escucha
The body on her farm is the least of her worries
With grown children and a husband that travels for work, Zoey spends most of her time alone on her pig farm. Her only companions are her pet mini pig and an evil voice in her head intent on destroying her. A voice she knows well. One she's beginning to believe.
Things look up when a young woman inherits the farm next door. A friend, a hope - then a murder victim. Zoey’s simple life shatters when she discovers the woman’s body in her field.
The sheriff on the case used to be Zoey’s best friend, but now they can barely stand the sight of each other. With the sheriff against her, her pet pig by her side, and the voice trying to destroy her, Zoey fights as the killer and the voice target her.
Can she find the courage to defeat them all?

.....Run.
That’s all I can think. I plunge through the woods, around trees, lost in my fear. I am not sure of my direction, and I don't care. Home is somewhere in front of me.
I finally have to stop, to catch my breath, bend over gasping. I look behind me, search for what chases me. I see nothing.
Nothing there, you silly girl.
I dig my phone out of my pocket, not sure who I plan on calling, but comforted by the possible connection. I still don’t see anything through the thick greenery.
Something crashes behind me.
Most likely just a branch falling, I tell myself. My feet have other plans and run again.
The creek opens before me, and I hurry to cross it, the border to home. I slip in the mud, my bare feet sliding through the muck. I was careful coming across earlier, I am a wild animal now. My foot catches on a root, and I tumble forward and land with a splash, my face in the water and muck.
I can’t breathe. Panicked, I push up to reach the air. The muck is thick and heavy and holds me down. The thick weeds tangle my hands. Frantic, I push hard and reach air. I suck it in greedily, still on my hands and knees, water dripping from my face.
Sharp, hot pain shoots up my leg from my twisted ankle. I don’t move from my hands and knees, just close my eyes and wait for the sharp bite to pass.
As the pain fades to bearable, my senses come back to me.
I smell him before I see him.....
