So foul and fair a day I have not seen…

Shakespeare’s classic play reworked into a tale of horror, suspense and cunning bewitchment. A second novel set in the same universe as the author's previous release, ‘House of Elsinore.’

In an unnamed realm, noble houses rule the surrounding lands from their seats of power. In the northernmost regions, King Duncan is threatened by traitors, but is thankful he has loyal dread lords to help secure his claim. Macbeth, Macduff, Banquo… true men all and servants of the crown, they ensure a great victory on the battlefield.

But as the fumes of battle and the cries of victory fade upon the heath, there are those remaining that would interfere with the fates of men, and have not done with mischief yet. Their mistress, Hecate, demands that they do all they can to cause the downfall of one of the strongest houses: Cawdor. Hundreds of years of history must be undone…

There is one man whose skin they can get under, whose head they can turn, whose wife they can manipulate… Macbeth will not be walking off the battlefield alone, but will carry the words of the witches – like a parasite – in his skull.

And like a parasite, their hold over Macbeth will gnaw at him from the inside out, bringing about cruel treachery and unspeakable horrors the likes of which the realm has never seen.

Incorporating characters and plot points from Shakespeare’s original, ‘House of Cawdor’ explores the perils of ambition and the terrors that can be unearthed when one lets unhealthy longing become one’s master. The novel also alters the expected course of known events as characters reveal their darker natures, so that a new, more unsettling tale unfolds.

From the author of ‘Dark Detours’, ‘The Deleted’, and ’21 Dares’.
