I've been listening to a lot of books on personal growth etc and have started to see a running theme. People pleasing. This was one of the things that gave me a lightbulb moment when thinking about why I never ask for a promotion or negotiate hard. I want to look like a good person. This book has helped me dispel this notion, make me realise that the imaginary demons are all in my head. No longer do I make a fuss and tell everyone except my boss I need more money I went directly to him, and it's obvious to say it wasn't half as bad as I imagined and have earned a new level of respect.
