The FBI safe house is haunted?

They didn't know it was the last day of normal. Liam - husband, father - the rock who anchored them in a comfortable life in sunny Miami had been gunned down by a hit man. The wounds of losing him are raw when Lydia and her two children are snatched for their own protection. The FBI scoop the family into the Witness Protection Program. The FBI makes a serious mistake in the relocation plan. The secluded farmhouse in a northern state is anything but a sanctuary. No one questioned why they could buy the house so cheap. No one listened to the local yokel tale of what happened there.

A tale of a dark and tragic history. Ghosts of the past have abided there for years, forcing other families to flee for their lives. At first the entities toy with Lydia and her children, flickering the lights, banging doors, and revealing fleeting glimpses.

When a raging blizzard traps the family there, the haunting escalates. What had been frightening escapades become dangerous threats. Deadly threats. Years before there had been a massacre in this house. It's time for another.

Will they survive the night?

I was hoping for something new and the storyline reads like many previous ghost stories. Nothing really new to catch my interest good narrator though.

I didn't dislike this story, it was appealing. In fact I really like the children's characters. For their ages they were level headed and smart. But, for me, I needed it to be a longer story, and more terrifying factors in it. I also wished that after all was said and done, a friendship had grown. Now, for the narrator Kristin James, she is a beast. She brought each characters to life, especially the voices of the children. I am so impressed with her narration and voice acting. (OUTSTANDING) What a talent she has been blessed with. Even though I wanted more of this story and horror, I do recommend this book.🙂

Needed More Terrifying Factors, With Longer Story.

very dramatic reading. Annoying characters. Fine to listen to as background noise. Plot was just blah with unnecessary info that went nowhere.

…the narration was irritating. The narrator would go from barely a whisper to loud then back again. Story was predictable but okay. Nice listen while doing other things.

This was a good quick read for a ghost story. It is well-written and the voice actor does an excellent job. I don’t consider it scary but it does take a lot to scare me. The plot is interesting and I did find myself wanting to know more about the ghost family, however, what little background the author gave on the ghost family was enough to enjoy and provide closure for the story.

Good old fashioned ghost story with the twist being the family is in witness protection with an FBI agent. Creepy and eerie in the right amounts , a writer that keeps it simple but highly entertaining and scary. This is what a ghost story should be.

Enjoyable. Great narrator. I enjoyed my listening. Great way to pass the time while organizing my workspace!

All of Michelle’s book are so full of craziness and twists. This book was so much fun 🤩 if you haven’t checked out her other stuff, I highly recommend you do!!!
