Acerca de esta escucha

Peace is shattered. Tragedy and chaos ensues.
A year has passed, and the native c'thlooq have begun a savage guerilla war across the swamps and rivers of the entire planet. The colonists of Wetworld are hard-pressed, for the insurgents have somehow acquired advanced human weaponry, and are supported by mysterious allies.

Sophie Singh is thrust into a leadership role as enemies from all sides attempt to crush the ruling conglomerate her family has built up over many generations. Meanwhile, Conrad Gorski, an agent from the Vatican, is sent to New Bali to find the missing Moises Borbon, the one man who holds the key to communicating with the indigenous aliens.

The war has intensified, and the hopes for peace have been dashed. With each side becoming more ruthless than ever before, who will win in the end?

This book is a good follow up on the first. Multiple parallel stories work well to keep things interesting and evolving at a good pace. The writing is actually better than the first book and the characters and dialogs are more engaging. But the virtual narration was already bad on the first and seems even worst in this. There are no intonations and some punctuation and some words are miss pronounced. It takes a lot from the overall listening experience. In the first book, there is no conclusion to the story, it just stops with a lot going on. In this one the ending at least closes some story arcs, but still forces you to keep reading to know how the story ends. It doesn't seem like the third book is available, however. Hopefully there will be a third book.

Better than the 1st book, but virtual narration is terrible
