Acerca de esta escucha

The epidemic of loneliness and depression among CEOs, executives, and founders is rampant, yet, we continue to create and foster relationships in the same way we always have - with boring networking events that leave us more disconnected than ever.

Born of author Chris Schembra's own disillusionment with success and his increasing sense of isolation, this book shares the journey of 7:47 Club dinners and how he used them to foster gratitude, empathy, and human connection in his life and in the lives of thousands of friends and colleagues. This audiobook will teach you to create and structure your own intimate dining events so that your guests will have an experience that will bring them closer together, and closer to you.

Had it not been recommended by my book club, I think I would’ve missed a pretty cool read. The author has a perspective and way of life I’d never considered, which at first I thought might alienate me. I’m not very theatrical, and I’m social only on demand, which left me pondering whether this style would fully fit my personality. But I kept reading and got a crystal clear playbook on how to make a room of people connect intimately. I may actually do some modified version of this when the pandemic subsides, or maybe the whole thing. Who knows. Either way, I’m glad to have read it, it was very refreshing, and I learned a good bit.

So thankful this wasn’t a book of affirmations and pasta recipes.
